Don't get me wrong, I love cheesesteak, but the greens sandwich is my 100% absolute favorite! The provolone is so sharp it'll make your tongue bleed!!!!

Eric - 1/29/2010
We want a Man Vs. Food rematch! You can do it Tony!!

Al - 1/26/2010
My daughter sent me a box of roast pork sandwiches to try because I missed Tony Luke's so much living here in FLA. They were just like home! They tasted just like going to Phili to get a Tony Luke's without the drive!

Dave - 1/25/2010
Hi Gang, I am not sure if I ever had a Tony Luke's? My son Nick did make the call on Tony in "Invincible". We saw him in Man Vs. Food. He said Dad thats the same guy! from Invincible and I said I agree but Mom "Donna" 100% Sicilian said, No Way! We dug into your site and proved her Wrong. Nick was Pumped Up for a 12 yr. Old. High Hopes of Penn State, and Steelers, althoughh we love Invinsible. Well if possible in a surprise to my Wife if I am not working one of my three jobs, we are going to try to come down and try your cheesestakes at the convention Center. Loved your part in the Movie! Lived in Philly after College and got engaged (In Philly)and loved the Old Front Street, Ninth?(Italian Section) , St. Peters Catholic Church. I am going to try like hell to make it. All I remember is two back to back, Cheesestakes places. I do love Cheesesteakes. My wife is more into a good Porketta Sandwich. Great Acting, Fight Eages,Fight

Betty - 1/21/2010
The ones that I got on QVC were good. Glad to see I can purchase them locally. Steak shops in suburbs are not open late. All I have to do is go to my freezer. And I don't have to go out in cold weather. And it nice that I can get them for my work to hard daughters . Fast dinner when needed.

Rick - 1/20/2010

Bill - 11/20/2009
Love your cheesesteaks Tony. Originally from South Jersey but live in Florida now, everytime I fly up to Philly first thing off the plane is to stop at Tony Luke's and get a real chessesteak.

Eric - 11/16/2009
I didn't see Tony Luke's on man v. food but a friend did and told us about it, so we stopped by when we were in the area a couple of weeks ago. Hands down the best Philly cheesesteak I've ever had! My wife agrees. I'm bringing a group of Boy Scouts to Philadelphia in a couple of weeks and we are all definitely stopping by!

Jim - 11/16/2009
It is absolutely ridiculous how much better your steaks are then ANY other in the city...or anywhere for that matter.

Danielle - 11/13/2009
I hadn't ever heard about Tony Luke's until I saw you on Man v. Food. Now, I'm definitely planning a trip to Philly to try your cheesesteaks straight from the source.

Jack - 11/12/2009
Tony, Grew up in So. Philly, then joined the Marine Corps, retiring in Las Cruces, NM - and REALLY miss the "down-home" tastes (like your sandwiches). Too bad you don't deliver (this far anyway) & I can't order "to go!!" r/s Jack

I saw you on the food network and can't wait to get to your restaurant to take your italian cheesestake with the broccoli rabe.

Michael - 11/2/2009
I moved from Rochester, NY in 1992. My mother and brother moved four years before so he had a leg up on the Philly cheesesteaks. Knowing very little we went to Geno's (they had the name thanks to Boys to Men) It was just OK. The next visit I went to Pat's and absolutely loved it never wanting to try any other cheesesteak. This stayed on for the next 14 years or so. Around that time I heard a lot about Tony Lukes. Stopped by your place after an Eagles game and have never been back to Pat's or Genos again. I always order and cheesesteak for here and a pork itailian to go. thx again for the great memories.

Andrew J. - 10/30/2009
When history looks back, the Philly cheesteak will be fondly remember as an institution, that is if it ever goes away. And Tony is to be thanked for keeping alive this tradition now that pretzels sold from baby carriages have disappeared.

Dolores - 10/29/2009
HEY TONY!!!! I watched the throw-down with Bobby Flay last night, and when I saw you I knew right away who you are. I absolutely loved you in Joey the nail, I recorded it on my t.v about 6 weeks ago. It was great Tony, and now to know that I can also order your food, is outrageous. I am very happy about your popularity. and personality. I hope to see you in more things to come. It's also awesome that Tony Jr. works with you.My oldest Son is a little older than him. We are Italian, and God Tony, don't we love food!! God Bless You. Sincerely, Dolores

I've been a fan of your cheese steaks for years now. I love the cheese and bacon smothered fries you guys serve. My favorite spot is your Sports Bar. Can you please tell me why the cheese steaks at the Sports Bar are way better that your other location across the street? The is a big difference, so much that it reminds me why I hate Pat's and Gino's. Get your people on check and tell them to stop being so sloppy. Meanwhile, I'll just keep dining at the Sports Bar... Best wishes and good luck with the frozen sandwiches.

I recently received a shipment of cheese steaks from your company and I cannot find the words to tell you how much I didn't enjoy your product. I lived on the east coast for 25 years and relocated to New Mexico and I was really excited about getting some tasty cheese steaks delivered to my home. The bread was perfect and the meat and cheese was disgusting. I won't order again from your company. I've paid over a hundred dollars with another company and was thrilled with the product. The slimy meat with the weird greasy scum is still stuck in my mind. I mean no disrespect to you or your company. I saved the bread and fried up some Italian sausage I had and enjoyed it very much. I tossed the cheese steaks and I am happy that I did.

Hey Tony, I am from Philly originally but I have been living in Miami since 1991. Every time I come to town for business or pleasure, I stop at Tony Luke's for a cheesesteak...sometimes straight from the airport. Tony Luke's is the best of Philadelphia!! The New King of Steaks!!!

David - 10/18/2009
Working for Jeffstat ambulance we know where all the steak joints are but the best and always will be is "Tony Lukes" The true taste of South Philly.

Thomas - 10/17/2009
Tony I used to eat at your stand at least once a week. I had to move out of the area and it has been more than a year and I have Tony Luke withdraw. The food in the Tioga Pa. area SUCKS.

Hungry Hungry Asian - 10/15/2009
Hungry Hungry Asian... Thoughts on food, dining, and cooking from one guy in New York City. Wednesday, February 24, 2009 Brotherly Love Because I came back to New York a week before school started, I decided to take a little trip and see some out of state sights. By which, of course, I mean eat other foods. So I arranged to visit my friend Tim who lives just outside of Philadelphia and encounter what the city had to offer. Tim offered to pick me up from the train station in Trenton, NJ and drive me the rest of the way to Philly. Anyways, the plan was to drive into Philly and get his favorite cheesesteak, from Tony Luke's. Obviously, we got lost on the way there. We could literally see Tony Luke's when we made a wrong turn and ended up on a highway going away from our destination. While I don't claim to be a moron (others may, though I have a CA driver's license), I am not exactly the world's greatest driver. After driving around in, essentially, a big circle, we got off the highway and risked the surface streets. Tim utilizing his excellent sense of what is near Tony Luke's drove on and we eventually found it. I obviously ordered and "whiz wit'" and a Pepsi. Though I am partial to Provolone (the original cheesesteak cheese of the 30s) I felt a certain iconic symbolism in the cheez whiz. Don't ask me why. The semi insulated dining area was all chrome business. Austere but fully functionally. Which, fittingly, describes the cheesesteak. It wasn't fancy or adorned with the unnecessary. It was a crusty, textured roll that gently cradled a warm and delicious heap of thinly sliced, tender steak, ripples of orange sauce with that creamy texture of cheese, and onions sweetly grilled to lend an edge to round out the flavor. This is what people talk about when they talk about cheesesteaks. Hungry, Hungry Asian

Denise - 10/15/2009
i tried all the steak shop in south Philly and i voted tony Luke's no# 1 when star's come in down i would recommend them to go to tony Luke's Jr steak shop giggle everyone you know goes to Tony's.;;;pause cause Luke's is the place to go,,, go.....if you want real steak,,,then tony Luke's taste buds is the place for you.......kind of like the old Gino's commercial from 60's 70's

i was pleasantly surprized to see your 'sangwiches' at our local ACME! the pork is awesome!!! howz about some broccoli rabe sauteed wit garlic & pepperoncini for da pork?? the chicken needed a little help, though...the cheese stuck to the plastic and was unusable...leave the cheeze out and maybe put a suggestion on the box to add your favorite cheeze? this is what i ended up doin'. i also added some 'gravy' and chopped the chicken meats up a bit before putting it all on the toasted bun...it was pretty good! they were sold out of the beef, i will try dem next time!!

You guys rock. I recently moved back to the area, so I figured I'd hit all the cheesesteak places I used to frequent. First, I went to Pat's and Geno's. Pat's had definately gone downhill, but Geno's was so incredibly bad I actually threw away more than half of it. Then, I went to your place and got a steak like I remembered. It tasted exactly the same as the last time I had one, over 4 years ago. I have a friend who just moved up here from the deep south and she's never had a Philly cheesesteak. I'm going to bring her by your restaurant this weekend so she can taste the best cheesesteak in Philly.

Your Comment I have purchased your frozen Cheese Steak and Roast Pork sandwiches and found both to be excellent. However, I was shocked when I opened one box of Roast Pork Sandwiches to fine only the meat and no Rolls. Fortunately, I had some Hoagie sized rolls in my freezer and used them. Also, a suggestion: Would you consider putting the cheese between the meat in your cheese steak sandwiches. They taste great but there is a problem of the cheese sticking to the wrapper. Bob Fiore
